‘Elemental’ Shows 20 Minutes at CinemaCon – Deadline

As discouraged during Disney’s CinemaCon presentations, the studio showed 20 minutes of Pixar’s latest film, Elementary.

The clip sees immigrant couple Bernie and Cinder’s rough welcome to Elemental City, where they make a life with baby Ember – trying to bond and avoid water. Additionally, the creatures of fire, earth, water, and air arrive at some kind of Ellis Island entrance to Element City, where the fire duo in particular have a hard time understanding themselves and seeing their passports stamped with the names Bernie and Cinder.

The firemen open a shop and raise their daughter Ember. When the water creatures come to visit, the sign in the store says, “You spray it, you buy it.” A bridge separates the Fire District from the rest of the city, which Ember says is inhospitable to fire people, “Elements don’t mix.” Things don’t go as hoped, and Ember’s temper gets the better of him, causing the warehouse to flood and a Water Boy, who is the city inspector, to float in threatening to give the store a citation for improper plumbing. This sets Ember on a journey to Element City and in pursuit of the inspector.
