New Trailers: THE BOOGEYMAN, INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR, TALK TO ME, and more

In this week’s trailer recap:

Based on a short story by Stephen King, Boogeyman follows 16-year-old Sadie and her younger sister Sawyer, who are reeling from the death of their mother. A supernatural boogeyman targets the family after their father, who is a psychologist, has an appointment with a depressed patient in their home. Adaptations of King’s work have done well at the box office, with Firestarter ($9.73 million domestic/$15 million global), Doctor Sleep ($31.58 million domestic / $72.38 million global), That Second Chapter ($211.62M domestic/$473.12M global) among the most recent examples. Originally slated for 2022, the remake of Salem’s tear– another King adaptation – is also expected this year. Boogeyman hits theaters June 2.

Secret: The Red Door reunites the original cast from the hit franchise, with Patrick Wilson (in his directorial debut), Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne and Andrew Astor reprising their roles. Billed as the latest chapter in the terrifying Lambert family saga, now college-aged Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into ‘The Further’ than ever before, facing the darkness of their family’s past and a host of new ones. horrors behind the red door (July 7). In total, Secretly the franchise has generated $257.55 million at the domestic box office and $542.89 million globally.

A24’s first horror release since last year PEARL ($9.42M domestic/$9.74M Global), Talk to me tells the story of a group of friends who discover how to create spirits using an embalmed hand. As they bond over a new excitement, one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural powers (July 28).

Demeter’s last journey follows a single chapter of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the doomed crew of the Demeter, a ship haunted nightly by a merciless presence on board. The film is directed by Norwegian horror master André Øvredal, who includes previous films Scary stories to tell in the dark ($68.9 million domestic / $104.5 million global), Trollhunter ($253k domestic/$5.3m global). The film hits theaters on August 11.

The picturesque French town of Lourdes is a tourist magnet, attracting around 6 million visitors each year from around the world. IN Club of Miracles, it’s 1968 and three friends who have never left Ireland take the trip of a lifetime to the French holy city. When they are joined on their journey by an unexpected friend, deep wounds from the past reopen (Summer 2023).
